The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the topic of sustainability as the world faces several ongoing crises, including climate change as well as social and economic inequality issues. Governments are responding with stimulus packages that incorporate “green recovery” plans to reduce emissions and address climate change.
Companies also have a responsibility to evolve in the face of these unprecedented challenges. Corporate leaders should begin to look beyond shareholders and draw in other relevant stakeholders including employees, customers, communities, and suppliers to tackle these issues.
